Semi crash 07

BECKLEY — A Raleigh County man is suing a Virginia trucking company, alleging its driver caused a crash that injured the plaintiff.

Philip Conley filed a complaint April 25 in Raleigh Circuit Court against Daniel Copeland and Cundiff Trucking, Inc. of Wirtz, Virginia, alleging Copeland failed to properly control his vehicle.

According to the complaint, on Feb. 8, 2016, Conley suffered physical injuries and damages to his GMC Sierra when Copeland, driving a Cundiff tractor trailer, collided with Conley's vehicle on the shoulder of Interstate Highway 77 in Ghent. The plaintiff alleges Copeland failed to keep a proper lookout while operating his vehicle.

Conley seeks trial by jury, compensatory and punitive damages, plus interest and all legal fees. He is represented by attorney Dan R. Snuffler Jr. of Preston & Salango PLLC in Charleston.
