CHARLESTON — A guardian is suing a Boone County health care center, alleging negligence in failing to take care of a patient.
Mary C. Workman, as guardian of Bessie Hatfield, filed a complaint April 25 in Kanawha Circuit Court against Hillcrest Health Care Center LLC and AMFM LLC, , alleging failure to properly care for Hatfield between September 2014 and November 2016.
According to the complaint, Hatfield suffered physical injuries, including a fractured hip and pelvis, from several falls. The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to provide assistance to Hatfield or to monitor her health. The suit says Hatfield suffered from neglect, poor care and abuse.
Workman seeks trial by jury, all damages, legal fees, and all other relief the deems just. She is represented by attorneys Damon Ellis and Jonathan R. Mani of Mani, Ellis & Layne PLLC in Charleston.
