Passenger blames two motorists for crash

Car accident 32

FAYETTEVILLE — A Fayette County woman is suing two motorists, alleging their negligence caused a crash that injured the plaintiff.

Megan Ryan Hemphill filed a complaint April 17 in Fayette Circuit Court against Gerald Jennings and Virginia Gray, alleging failure to to maintain proper control of their vehicles.

According to the complaint, on July 9, 2015, Hemphill was seriously injured when a vehicle driven by either Jennings and Gray negligently attempted a complete left to right turn in front of the vehicle in which plaintiff was a passenger, causing a two-vehicle collision in Fayette County.

The plaintiff alleges Jennings and Gray failed to yield right of way and carelessly traveled into the opposing lane that was properly occupied by the plaintiff's car. Hemphill says she sustained severe injuries, resulting in physical and mental pain, annoyance and inconvenience and she incurred medical expenses.

Hemphill seeks trial by jury, compensatory and punitive damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney fees, costs and expenses and all other just and appropriate relief. She is represented by attorneys Robert D. Cline Jr. and Brian E. Bigelow of Farmer Cline & Campbell PLLC in Beckley.
