CHARLESTON — A former bank worker is suing her employer, alleging discrimination, retaliation and wrongful discharge.
Brittany Ballew filed a complaint April 25 in Kanawha Circuit Court against Wesbanco Bank Inc., alleging failure to provide proper accommodation to the plaintiff when she wanted to breast feed her child.
According to the complaint, Ballew, who began work for the bank in 2015, suffered financial damages from being suspended from work without pay. The plaintiff alleges Wesbanco Bank refused to provide accommodation to Ballew to pump breast milk for her son and instead retaliated against her.
Ballew seeks trial by jury, damages, lost benefits, front and back pay, liquidated damages, punitive damages, all legal fees and all other relief the court deems just. She is represented by attorney Elizabeth G. Kavitz of Kavitz Law PLLC in Charleston.
