Former employee alleges discrimination, wrongful termination

Wrongful term 08

CHARLESTON — A Kanawha County man is suing a South Charleston rubber company, manager and supervisor, alleging age discrimination and wrongful termination.

Curtis Bolden filed a complaint April 24 in Kanawha Circuit Court against Nova Rubber Company LLC, Ben McDonald and Tracy Joslin, alleging violation of the West Virginia Human Rights Act.

According to the complaint, Bolden, 61, has suffered loss of wages and employment benefits, emotional and mental distress, aggravation and inconvenience after being terminated Jan. 5.

The plaintiff, who began working for Nova Rubber in 2013, alleges the defendants subjected him to unlawful discrimination and terminated his employment due to his age.

Bolden seeks trial by jury back pay, front pay and all benefits, compensatory and punitive damages, interest, litigation costs and expenses and all appropriate relief. He is represented by attorney Mark L. French of The Law Office of Mark L. French PLLC in Charleston.
