Floor manager accuses former employer of wrongful termination

Wrongful term 07

WHEELING — A Marshall County man is suing his former employer, alleging retaliation and wrongful termination.

Timothy Strahl filed a complaint April 26 in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia against JLE Industries LLC, alleging violation of the Service Transportation Assistance Act.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 19, 2016, Strahl was terminated from his employment as an inventory manager, leading to lost wages and employment benefits, emotional distress anxiety and indignity.

The plaintiff alleges JLE Industries retaliated against Strahl and terminated his employment for making a safety complaint about drivers moving trucks without having proper credentials and for requiring drivers to delay signing in their logs.

Strahl seeks trial by jury, compensatory and punitive damages of up to $250,000, attorney fees, court costs and interest and all other equitable relief. He is represented by attorney Ronald Kasserman of Kasserman Law Offices PLLC in Wheeling.
