Logan County couple accuses consumer reporting agency of false reports

LOGAN — A Logan County couple is suing a consumer reporting agency, alleging false reporting.

Jimmy D. Vance and Kimberly Vance filed a complaint April 27 in Logan Circuit Court against Equifax Information Services LLC, alleging failure to to investigate the plaintiffs' dispute.

According to the complaint, the Vances suffered damages in the of loss of their ability to purchase, mental anguish, humiliation and embarrassment because Equifax continued to report that the Vances were delinquent on their mortgage loan.

The Vances seek trial by jury, actual and punitive damages, attorney fees, court costs and interest and all just and equitable relief. They are represented by attorney Colten L. Fleu of Mountain State Justice Inc. in Charleston.
