Employee accuses transport business of discrimination

CHARLESTON — A Mingo County woman is suing a West Virginia transport business, alleging discrimination and sexual harassment.

Angela Underwood filed a complaint May 4 in Kanawha Circuit Court against KC Transport, Inc., doing business as KC Transport of West Virginia, Inc., and Mike Taylor, alleging they discriminated against the plaintiff due to her sex.

According to the complaint, Underwood suffered damages from being discriminated during her employment after she complained about inappropriate sexual conduct. She alleges K.C. Transport allowed Taylor to intentionally cause harmful and offensive comments to the plaintiff about her body as well as physical contact.

Underwood seeks trial by jury, permanent injunction, enjoin the defendant, back pay, all benefits, front pay, compensatory damages, legal fees and all just relief. She is represented by attorney Mark L. French of The Law Office of Mark L. French PLLC in Charleston.
