CHARLESTON — A Wyoming County woman is suing medical care providers, alleging medical negligence caused her husband's death.

Kadie Acord, individually and as executor of the estate of David Acord, filed a complaint April 28 in Kanawha Circuit Court against Charleston Area Medical Center Inc. CAMC Health System Inc., Integrated Health Care Providers Inc. doing business as Plastic Surgery Center and Dr. William Wood, alleging they breached their duty to provide the acceptable standard of medical care.

According to the complaint, on March 3, David Acord died as a result of malignant neoplasm of his head, face and neck. Before his death, the suit says, he experienced pain and suffering, mental anguish and hospital and medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to remove and properly treat all of David Accord's carcinoma and failed to develop and implement a patient care plan to meet his needs.

Kadie Acord seeks trial by jury, compensatory damages in an amount to be proven at trial, costs of court, and all other just relief. She is represented by attorney Shannon M. Bland of Bland & Bland in Charleston.
