Employee alleges rental business failed to pay proper wages

BECKLEY — A Raleigh County man is suing a Beckley rental business, alleging defamation and unpaid wages.

Nathan McGraw filed a complaint May 8 in Raleigh Circuit Court against A Plus Rentals, LLC and Rose Smith, alleging failure to pay the plaintiff for all hours worked.

According to the complaint, McGraw worked more than the required hours and was terminated from his employment Jan. 18 when he field a workers compensation claim. The plaintiff alleges the defendants made false allegations against McGraw to the general public and to potential employers to harm his reputation to work elsewhere.

McGraw seeks trial by jury, economic and compensatory damages, legal fees, punitive damages and all other just relief. He is represented by attorney J. Mingo Winters of Beckley.
