WILLIAMSON — A Lenore couple is suing General Motors, alleging breach of an express warranty.
Clarence R. Canterbury and Sheila Canterbury filed a complaint May 18 in Mingo Circuit Court against General Motors LLC, alleging failure to comply with the Lemon Law provisions.
According to the complaint, on April 7, 2016, the Canterburys purchased a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado from a GM dealer. Since purchase, the plaintiffs say they have experienced several defects and non-conformities with the Silverado that could cause serious injuries and/or death. Such defects substantially impaired its use, value and safety, the suit says.
The plaintiffs allege General Motors failed to repair the vehicle in a good and workmanlike manner so as to bring it into conformity with its warranties and failed to replace the same.
The Canterburys seek trial by jury, damages in excess of the minimum jurisdictional limits of the court and all other equitable relief. They are represented by attorney Craig K. Smith of Law Office of Greg K. Smith in Williamson.
