RALEIGH — A West Virginia woman is suing Lowe's Home Centers LLC, citing alleged product liability.

Sherri Lee Johnson Shumate filed a complaint on May 22 in the Raleigh Circuit Court, alleging that the defendant distributed a defective product that injured her.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she suffered physical injuries in 2016 after using CABOT Australian Timber Oil for Decks. She claims that after using the product, the skin on her feet "blistered, cracked, bled and was falling off." The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to warn her of the potential harmful effects of being exposed to the oil.

The plaintiff seeks damages and any other relief this court deems just. She is represented by Anthony M. Salvatore of Hewitt & Salvatore PLLC in Fayetteville, W.Va.
