Medical malpractice 04

CHARLESTON — A daughter is suing Kanawha County nursing home facility operators, alleging their negligence led to her father's death.

Jaye L. Walker, as personal representative of the estate of Cletus R. Walker, filed a complaint May 25 in the Kanawha Circuit Court against Sunbridge Dunbar Healthcare LLC, doing business as Dunbar Center and Genesis Healthcare LLC, alleging they failed to provide health care services in compliance with acceptable professional standards and principles.

According to the complaint, Cletus Walker, a patient at Dunbar Center admitted June 7, 2016, suffered the dislocation of his left hip prosthesis, resulting in pain and suffering and mental anguish that ultimately led to his death July 14, 2016.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to provide adequate supervision and safety devices to prevent Cletus Walker from accidental falls.

Jaye Walker seeks trial by jury, compensatory and punitive damages, attorney fees, court costs and all other equitable relief. She is represented by attorneys Jeff D. Stewart, Andrew Paternostro and Shayla M. Rigsby of The Bell Law Firm PLLC in Charleston.
