West Virginia couple accuse doctor of failing to identify abnormality in artery

CHARLESTON — A couple are suing Alberta Jane Maloof M.D. for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries.

Stephanie M. Spencer and Jamie Spencer filed a complaint on June 7 in the Kanawha County Circuit Court, alleging that the doctor failed to properly diagnose Stephanie M. Spencer's condition.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that Stephanie M. Spencer suffered neurological and physical injuries after the defendant failed to notice an abnormality in the her vertebral artery. The plaintiffs hold the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to provide proper medical care to Stephanie M. Spencer.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek damages that exceeds the jurisdiction of this court and any other relief that the court deems just. They are represented by Robert V. Berthold Jr. and Holly G. DiCocco of Berthhold Law Firm PLLC in Charleston, W.Va.
