Landlord alleges tenant owes $65,000 for unpaid rent

FAYETTEVILLE — A North Carolina company is suing a Mount Hope tenant, alleging breach of lease agreement in failing to pay more than $65,000.

Home Run Properties LLC filed a complaint June 5, in the Fayette Circuit Court against Open Minds Recovery Services Inc. alleging the tenant failed to fulfill its contractual obligations.

According to the complaint, on March 1, 2016, Open Minds entered into a lease agreement with Home Run to rent a property at 101 Martin Drive, Mount Hope, and agreed to pay $12,500 before the fifth day of every month. As of December 2016, the balance of $64,212.58 remains due. 

The plaintiff alleges Open Minds Recovery Services because failed to pay monthly rent, taxes and late fees.

Home Run Properties seeks trial by jury, payment of $65,732.57, with continuing interest at 6 percent per annum and costs of court. He is represented by attorney Arch C. Riley Jr. of Bersntein-Burckley PC in Wheeling.
