POINT PLEASANT — A New Haven woman is suing a West Virginia public utility, citing alleged insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries, liability and negligence.
Crystal L. Shell filed a complaint June 6 in Mason Circuit Court against Mason County Public Service District and Ray T. Vanmeter Jr., alleging Vanmeter failed to properly control his vehicle.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 7, 2015, she suffered physical injuries and damage to her vehicle. The plaintiff holds Mason County Public Service District and Vanmeter responsible because the Vanmeter allegedly failed to keep a proper lookout while operating his vehicle, causing it to hit the plaintiff's car.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. She is represented by Bradley H. Layne of Kayser Layne & Clark PLLC in Point Pleasant.
