Consumer alleges Ford failed to fulfill warranties

NEW MARTINSVILLE — A Pine Grove woman is suing Ford, alleging breach of implied and express warranties.

Tara J. Beatty filed a complaint June 16 in Wetzel Circuit Court against Ford Motor Company, alleging failure to comply with the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Improvement Act.

According to the complaint, on June 1, 2016, Beatty purchased a used 2014 Ford Escape for more than $20,500. After purchase, the suit says, Beatty experienced defects with the vehicle.

Beatty says she was damaged for being unable to use the Escape for its intended use and for being worthless. The plaintiff alleges Ford failed to repair the vehicle in a good and workmanlike manner to conform it with its warranties.

Beatty seeks trial by jury revocation of acceptance, damages, costs and attorney fees, pre- and post-judgment interest and all other general and appropriate relief. She is represented by attorney Christina Gill Roseman of Roseman Law Firm PLLC in Pittsburgh.
