Former husband, wife blame another driver for causing crash

Car accident 13

PRINCETON — A former husband and wife from Mercer County are suing a vehicle owner and a driver, alleging negligence that resulted in injuries to the plaintiffs.

Linda J. Odonell and Robert Ledsome filed a complaint June 27 in Mercer Circuit Court against Tina M. Belliveau and John Doe, alleging Belliveau's negligently left her vehicle unattended, open and running.

According to the complaint, on June 27, 2015,  Odonell and Ledsome were travelling east on Low Gap Road in Princeton when Belliveau's stolen Hyundai Sonata crossed the center line and struck the plaintiffs' vehicle. The plaintiffs both suffered severe injuries, the suit says, incurring medical expenses in excess of $34,500.

The plaintiffs allege Doe failed to keep a careful lookout, failed to maintain proper control of the vehicle he was driving and then fled on foot after the crash.

The plaintiffs seek trial by jury, monetary relief of more than $160,000, plus interest, costs of court and all other relief. They are represented by attorney Jay Barringer of Feuchtenberger & Barringer Legal Corporation in Princeton.
