Late 05

BECKLEY – A Raleigh County architecture firm claims that it was not compensated for services it provided to an individual and a corporation.

J. Dan Snead & Associates filed a complaint on July 5 in Raleigh Circuit Court against Mohammad Khalid Hasan M.D., MKH West Virginia Inc., Branch Banking and Trust NA and Community Health Systems Inc. alleging failure to pay.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, plaintiff provided architectural design to defendants Hasan and MKH for the construction of a building in the amount of $55,000. The plaintiff alleges it was informed on March 1 that the project would not be built and on March 2, a notice of mechanic's lien was recorded in the Clerk's Office of the County Commission of Raleigh County.

The plaintiff seeks an order that its lien in the clerk's office be adjudged a valid lien against the property owned by defendants Hasan and MKH, award for damages of $55,000, plus interest, costs and attorney's fees and all further relief that are just and proper. It is represented by James G. Anderson III of Anderson & Stanbury LC in Beckley. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Andrew Dimlich.
