Two companies sue Sowards Oil Field Services for failure to pay for goods, services

WINFIELD – Two lawsuits have been filed against Sowards Oil Field Services after the plaintiffs claim it failed to pay for goods and services they provided.

Fischer-Bush Equipment Rentals and Youngstown Pipe & Steel filed lawsuits against Sowards on June 10 in Putnam Circuit Court.

The plaintiffs claim they supplied the defendant with materials on multiple occasions in 2015 and 2016 and that Sowards failed and refused to pay for the goods and services provided.

Sowards failed to pay for the equipment it leased from Fischer-Bush in the amount of $35,069.61, according to the suits.

Youngstown claimed Sowards failed and refused to pay for materials in the amount of $16,945.

The defendant received the benefit of the goods and services, but failed to pay for such benefits, according to the suits.

The plaintiffs are seeking damages in the total amount of $52,014.61 with pre- and post-judgment interest. They are being represented by Ryan S. Marsteller of Bailes, Craig & Yon; and James B. Atkins, Paul S. Atkins and Bree Whipp Ogle of Atkins & Ogle Law Offices.
