Wrongful death suit filed against Charleston's Eastbrook Center

CHARLESTON – A Kanawha County man has filed suit against the operators of a Charleston nursing home after his wife's death.

John W. Brannon, personal representative of the estate of Alice V. Brannon, filed a complaint on July 19 in the Kanawha Circuit Court against Eastbrook Center LLC, doing business as Eastbrook Center, and Stonerise Healthcare LLC alleging negligence and wrongful death.

According to the complaint, Alice V. Brannon resided at the defendants' nursing facility from 2014 to 2016. The plaintiff alleges that Alice V. Brannon was not provided a safe environment and the defendants' failed to prevent her from developing a pressure injury.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all damages, all legal fees, punitive damages and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Jeff D. Stewart, Andrew L. Paternostro and Shayla M. Rigsby of The Bell Law Firm PLLC in Charleston. The case has been assigned to Carrie L. Webster.
