Patron alleges she suffered burn injuries after coloring at Ripley Fantastic Sam's

RIPLEY – A Jackson County woman alleges that she suffered burn injuries to her scalp after she had her hair colored at a Ripley salon.

Tara R. Tracy filed a complaint Aug. 4 in Jackson Circuit Court against J.A.D.E. Business Concepts Inc., doing business as Fantastic Sam's, and Cassie Lee Durback alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 5, 2015, she was a walk-in client of the defendants seeking hair coloring. She alleges that Durback, a licensed cosmetologist, caused chemicals to come in contact with her scalp during the process, which caused severe burn injuries. The plaintiff alleges she needed to surgeries as a result.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Keith A. Jones of Jones Law Group PLLC in Charleston.
