CHARLESTON – A Kanawha County resident alleges that his property was damaged by a water main break.
Gregory A. Campbell filed a complaint July 28 in Kanawha Circuit Court against American Water Works Service Co. Inc., doing business as West Virginia American Water, alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 31, 2015, he suffered water damage to his real and personal properties in Charleston when a water main owned and operated by the defendant ruptured.
The plaintiff holds American Water Works Service Co. Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly negligently maintained the water line and failed to avoid damage.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation for all damages suffered by plaintiff, pre- and post-judgment interest and such other just and proper relief. He is represented by Thomas F. Basile of Law Offices of Thomas F. Basile in Charleston.
