Couple seeks damages for injuries allegedly sustained in U.S. 60 accident

HUNTINGTON – A Huntington couple claims that a driver who failed to yield to the right of way caused a collision on U.S. Route 60.

Judy Korstanje and David Korstanje filed a complaint Aug. 16 in Cabell Circuit Court against Metro Tristate Inc. and David Benton alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Oct. 25, 2016, Judy Korstanje was traveling eastbound on U.S. Route 60 when Grubbs, who was operating a vehicle owned by Metro Tristate, failed to yield to the right of way when making a left turn and struck Korstanje.

The plaintiffs seek compensatory damages, statutory damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. They are represented by Thomas P. Boggs and Kenneth R. Bannon of Duffield, Lovejoy, Stemple & Boggs PLLC in Huntington. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Alfred E. Ferguson.
