BECKLEY – An administrator of a Glen Daniel man's estate alleges a lift device caused the man injures that contributed to his death.
Eva Stanley, individually and as administratrix of the estate of Roy Junior Stanley, filed a complaint Aug. 14 in Raleigh Circuit Court against Medical Depot Inc. and Pioneer Medical Services Inc. alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 15, 2015, Roy Junior Stanley was using a Drive lift device at his residence and suffered physical injuries when it failed, causing him to be thrown onto the ground. The suit states Medical Depot manufactured the device and Pioneer assembled it and that Roy Junior Stanley died Aug. 16, 2015.
The plaintiff seeks compensatory damages, punitive damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Anthony M. Salvatore of Hewitt & Salvatore, PLLC in Fayetteville. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Andrew Dimlich.
