Customer claims rim on Cobalt air compressor was defective, caused injuries

CHARLESTON – A Cabin Creek man alleges he was injured by an air compressor he purchased at Lowe's.

Thomas A. Tucker filed a complaint Aug. 1 in Kanawha Circuit Court against Lowe's Home Centers LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 4, 2016, he sustained serious injuries when the Cobalt Air Compressor's tire rim he bought from defendant's store exploded while he was attempting to add air to a tire. He alleges he has suffered medical expenses, mental anguish, pain and suffering and loss of enjoyment of life. 

The plaintiff seeks compensatory damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney's fees and costs. He is represented by G. Patrick Jacobs of Law Office of G. Patrick Jacobs in Charleston. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Joanna Tabit.
