Guest claims wet floor at Logan General Hospital caused fall

LOGAN – A visitor at a Logan County hospital alleges he was caused to fall because of a wet floor.

Michael Allen filed a complaint Aug. 18 in Logan Circuit Court against Logan General Hospital LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 14, 2016, he was a guest at defendant's hospital visiting a patient when he slipped and fell on the wet corridor, injuring himself. He alleges he has suffered pain and suffering, mental anguish, loss of capacity to enjoy life and medical expenses.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, costs of court and any other available relief. He is represented by J. Christopher White and Steven S. Wolfe of Wolfe, White & Associates in Logan. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Joshua Butcher.
