UNION – A Pennsboro couple is seeking damages after a truck accident that severely injured the husband.
William Stringham and Kelly Stringham filed a complaint Aug. 21 in Doddridge Circuit Court against Norman Jackson Trucking Inc., Pete Gould & Sons Inc., and EQT Corp. alleging deliberate intent, negligence and unsafe workplace.
According to the complaint, William Stringham was employed as a truck driver by Norman Jackson Trucking and on June 8, 2016, was hauling rock to EQT and Pete Gould & Sons Inc.'s well site in Doddridge County. He alleges while delivering the load down a steep hill, the brakes on his truck failed and caused the truck to leave the roadway, go over an embankment and strike several trees. The plaintiffs allege he suffered spinal fractures and other serious injuries.
The plaintiffs hold Norman Jackson Trucking, Inc., Pete Gould & Sons, Inc., and EQT Corporation responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to provide a safe working environment.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek compensatory damages, punitive damages, all legal fees, interest and any other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by Timothy C. Bailey and J. Ryan Stewart of Bailey Javins & Carter LC in Charleston. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Timothy Sweeney.
