Former PracticeLink LTD employee alleges he was subjected to hostile work environment

PRINCETON – An black man alleges that he was terminated by his Hinton employer for reporting discriminating comments toward him.

Brian Brown filed a complaint Aug. 25 in Mercer Circuit Court against PracticeLink LTD alleging violation of the West Virginia Human Rights Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was hired by the defendant in 1999 as a physician relations department manager. He alleges that during his employment, he was subjected to a hostile work environment and subjected to disparate treatment because of his race. 

The plaintiff holds PracticeLink LTD responsible because the defendant allegedly terminated the plaintiff on Oct. 14, 2016, in retaliation for his complaints of racial discrimination.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all damages, benefits, front pay, punitive damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Anthony M. Salvatore of Hewitt & Salvatore PLLC in Fayetteville and by Tammy Bowles Raines in Charleston. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Mark Wills.
