BECKLEY – The owner of a Beckley property alleges a tree cut by an untrained person caused damages to the property.

Keith Wooten filed a complaint Aug. 25 in Raleigh Circuit Court against G3 Housing Solutions LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the defendant owns a neighboring property and had an unlicensed individual trim and/or remove limbs from a tree on the property. The suit states the defendant's agent caused limbs to fall onto a building owned by the plaintiff.

The plaintiff states he presented a damage estimate to the defendant on Oct. 21, 2016, of $4,343.50 but that the defendant has not responded to his demands for payment.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in the amount of $4,343.50 for his damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Darl W. Poling of Poling Law Offices in Beckley. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge H.L. Kirkpatrick III.
