Homeowner claims Dish Network to blame for fire that damaged home

UNION – A West Union woman alleges that her home was destroyed in a fire caused by the negligent installation of Dish Network equipment.

Lori Stout filed a complaint Aug. 28 in Doddridge Circuit Court against Dish Network LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on May 27 the plaintiff's home was destroyed by fire, smoke and water damage because of the defendant's negligent installation of its system in the home.

The plaintiff holds Dish Network LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to properly install the system on the plaintiff's property.

The plaintiff seeks compensatory and punitive damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Thomas W. Kupec of Kupec & Associates PLLC in Clarksburg.
