Trinity Health Care Services of Logan accused of failing to provide a safe environment

Medical malpractice 09

LOGAN – An administrator alleges a Logan care facility caused his decedent harm because of its actions and/or inactions.

Steve Adkins, as administrator of the estate of Mary Frances Adkins, filed a complaint Sept. 8 in Logan Circuit Court against Trinity Health Care Services of Logan Inc., doing business as Trinity Healthcare of Logan, and Trinity Healthcare Services Inc. alleging negligence and other counts.

According to the complaint, Mary Frances Adkins was a resident at the defendants' facility at various times from July 3, 2015, to Sept. 16, 2015. The suit states she died Oct. 1, 2015.

The plaintiff alleges that Mary Frances Adkins experienced pain from suffering from several medical conditions, including a urinary tract infection and from suffering a fall, while in the defendants' care.

The plaintiff holds Trinity Health Care Services of Logan Inc. and Trinity Healthcare Services Inc. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to provide a safe environment and failed to follow physician's orders.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant for compensatory damages, punitive damages, interest, court costs and any further relief the court grants. He is represented by Peter D. Giglione of Massa Butler Giglione in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
