HUNTINGTON – An Ohio couple alleges the husband was injured while working for a metals manufacturer.
Thomas Caines and Jaclyn Caines filed a complaint Sept. 7 in Cabell Circuit Court against Caledonian Alloys Inc.; Huntington Alloys Corp., doing business as Special Metals and Special Metals Corp.; and Precision Castparts Corp. alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, Thomas Caines was an employee of Precision working at Caledonian's facility on Sept. 9, 2015. The suit states Thomas Caines had his left thumb amputated when it was pulled into an alligator shear.
The plaintiffs hold the defendants responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to provide "no touch tools" to the plaintiff and failed to provide a safe workplace.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek all medical expenses, lost wages, all legal fees, interest and any other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by Brian L. Ooten of Shaffer & Shaffer PLLC in Madison. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Gregory L. Howard.
