PRINCETON – A physician practicing in Bluefield has been named in a suit by an Iaeger man regarding the death of his wife.
Ricky Dotson, as administrator of the estate of Hope Dotson, filed a complaint Sept. 12 in Mercer Circuit Court against Sunil Dhar MD alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 3, his wife was transferred to Bluefield Regional Medical Center. The suit states that the defendant inappropriately, negligently and unnecessarily attempted to stent the decadent's right coronary artery and during the procedure dissected the decedent's vessel, which contributed to her death on April 5.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant for damages and for other relief as may be proper under the law. He is represented by Robert V. Berthold Jr. and Matthew C. Berthold of Berthold Law Firm PLLC in Charleston. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Derek C. Swope.
