Four seek damages after rear-end collision on I-77 with Nitro Electric employee

RIPLEY – Four Parkersburg residents allege they were injured when their vehicle was rear-ended on Interstate 77 in Ravenswood.

Mark W. McClung, individually and as father of Hannah M. McClung, a minor and Eric J. McClung filed a complaint Sept. 14 in Jackson Circuit Court against Joshua Daniel Morgan and Nitro Electric Co. Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on May 15, Mark McClung and daughter Hannah McClung were passengers in a motor vehicle owned and driven by Eric McClung when their vehicle was struck from the rear by defendant Morgan while in the course and scope of his employment with defendant Nitro. The suit states Morgan fled the scene. 

The plaintiffs allege that they sustained injuries that required medical treatment.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek compensatory and general damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney's fees, costs and expenses and such other just and appropriate relief. They are represented by Bruce M. White and Jay W. Gerber Jr. of Law Offices of Bruce M. White LC in Parkersburg. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Lora Dyer.
