WILLIAMSON – A Lenore woman is seeking damages from a motorist and insurer after a collision in Mingo County.
Alisha Canterbury filed a complaint Sept. 18 in Mingo Circuit Court against Darrell Goff and State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. alleging negligence, breach of contract and other counts.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 3, 2017, she was struck by Goff while traveling in Mingo County when Goff crossed into the plaintiff's lane of traffic. She alleges she suffered injuries to her head, neck and other parts of her body, prolonged pain, discomfort, mental anguish, financial difficulties and inconvenience.
Additionally, plaintiff alleges she was further harmed by defendant State Farm's refusal to adequately compensate for her injuries.
The plaintiff holds Goff and State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. responsible because Goff allegedly failed to keep a proper lookout ahead and State Farm allegedly breached the terms of the insurance policy.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants for compensation for injuries and damages, court costs, interest and other relief determined to be just. She is represented by Joshua S. Ferrell and Nathan D. Brown of Ferrell & Brown PLLC in Williamson. The case is assigned to Circuit Judge Miki Thompson.
