CHARLESTON — A Putnam County woman is suing a Kanawha County business, alleging discrimination and a hostile work environment.

Ana Humbertson of Hurricane filed a complaint Sept. 27, in the Kanawha Circuit Court against Amedisys West Virginia LLC, doing business as Amedisys Home Health of West Virginia, alleging violation of the West Virginia Human Rights Act.

According to the complaint, during Humbertson's tenure with Amedisys as an account executive, she was never placed on a performance plan and never received pay increases and incentives. She was terminated Sept. 29, 2015, without any valid reason.

Humberston says she has suffered loss of earnings, humiliation, aggravation, annoyance and inconvenience. The plaintiff alleges Amedisys failed to provide equal employment opportunity, retaliated against her and terminated her employment for contravening discriminatory conduct.

Humbertson seeks trial by jury, compensatory and punitive damages, attorney fees, costs of court, and all other just and appropriate relief. She is represented by attorney Jon D. Hoover of Hoover Andrews PLLC in Barboursville.
