MOUNDSVILLE — A registered nurse is suing a nursing care facility operator,  alleging discrimination, retaliation and wrongful or constructive eviction.

Loriann L. Ramby of Marshall County filed a complaint Sept. 27 in Marshall Circuit Court against Moundview Healthcare Inc., alleging violation of the Patient Safety Act.

According to the complaint, during Ramby's tenure with Moundview, that began March 26, 2016, she experienced intolerable working conditions that caused her to resign her position. As a result, Ramby says she has suffered and will continue to suffer, financial losses, inconvenience, humiliation, emotional distress and damage to her personal reputation.

The plaintiff alleges Moundview Healthcare discriminated and retaliated against her for making good faith report relating to the maltreatment of a resident.

Ramby seeks trial by jury, compensatory and punitive damages, pre- and post-judgment interest and all other just and appropriate relief. She is represented by attorneys Patrick S. Cassidy and Wray V. Voegelin of Cassidy, Cogan, Shapell & Voegelin LC in Wheeling.
