Former Prime Lab Collections Inc. employee files sexual harassment complaint

BECKLEY – A Beckley woman only identified by her initials alleges she was subjected to sexual harassment while working for a medical facility.

C.A. filed a complaint Oct. 26 in Raleigh Circuit Court against J. Jorge A. Gordinho, M.D.; Responsible Pain & Aesthetic Management PLLC; Alleghany Medical Services PC; and Prime Lab Collections Inc. alleging sexual harassment.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was employed by Prime Lab and was supervised by Gordinho. She alleges she was subjected to sexual harassment and a hostile work environment by Gordinho. The suit states the plaintiff and the rest of the staff at Gordinho's office were terminated when the office was "raided" by state and/or federal workers in November 2015.

The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the defendants allegedly created a hostile work environment with its actions/inactions.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional limits of this court, punitive damages, all equitable remedies, interest, court costs and any further relief the court grants. She is represented by Amanda J. Davis and James D. McQueen Jr. of McQueen Davis, PLLC in Huntington and by Christopher J. Heavens of Heavens Law Firm in Charleston. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Andrew Dimlich.
