BECKLEY – An estate administrator is seeking damages after a car fire burned her decedent.
The estate of Leonard Roosevelt Glasco, by Letitia Glasco, administratrix of the estate of Leonard Roosevelt Glasco filed a complaint Oct. 26 in Raleigh Circuit Court against Greg Lilly Auto Sales Inc. and General Motors LLC alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, Leonard Roosevelt Glasco was driving a 2002 Pontiac Bonneville in Beckley on Jan. 2 when the vehicle caught fire, which burned him. He later died, the suit states.
The suit states the vehicle was purchased from Greg Lilly and manufactured by General Motors.
The plaintiffs hold Greg Lilly Auto Sales Inc. and General Motors LLC responsible because General Motors allegedly failed to design the vehicle to protect occupants from engine fires and both defendants expressly and impliedly warranted the vehicle was of merchantable quality.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek compensatory and punitive damages, all funeral expenses, all damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. They are represented by Clayton C. Anderson and Marvin W. Masters of The Masters Law Firm LC in Charleston. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Robert A. Burnside Jr.
