GRAFTON – A Taylor County woman has filed a suit against a hospital over her decedent's care.

Karen Spotloe, as personal representative of the estate of Margaret M. Williams, filed a complaint Oct. 27 in Taylor Circuit Court against Grafton City Hospital Inc. alleging negligence and wrongful death.

According to the complaint, Williams was under the defendant's care from October 2015 to June 9, 2016. The plaintiff alleges Williams suffered recurrent urinary tract infections while under the defendant's care, decreased functional mobility and bodily injuries. She died on June 9, 2016, the suit states.

The plaintiff holds Grafton City Hospital Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to properly staff its facility and failed to supervise Williams.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all damages as allowed by law, attorneys' fees, costs and any other relief that the court sees fit to award. She is represented by Jeff D. Stewart and Andrew L. Paternostro of Stewart | Bell PLLC in Charleston.
