CHARLESTON – The parents of a Kanawha County man allege the operators of a care center failed to supervise their son.
Dwan L. Brown, by his conservator and guardian Hollie J. Brown and Gloria Brown, and Hollie J. Brown and Gloria Brown filed a complaint Nov. 6 in Kanawha Circuit Court against Res-Care Inc., et al. alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, Dwan L. Brown was resident at the defendants' personal care home in St. Albans. The suit states on Nov. 4, 2015, Dwan L. Brown swallowed foreign objects that later had to be removed through surgery.
The plaintiffs hold Res-Care Inc., et al. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to provide adequate supervision to Dwan Brown in order to prevent him from swallowing foreign objects.
The plaintiffs seek monetary damages, court costs and any further relief the court grants. They are represented by Andrew S. Nason of Pepper & Nason in Charleston. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Joanna Tabit.
