Driver seeks damages from Preece Logistics, others after Route 35 collision

Semi crash 01

WINFIELD – A Fraziers Bottom woman is seeking damages after her vehicle was rear-ended by a tractor-trailer.

Drema Lynn Farmer filed a complaint Nov. 3 in Putnam Circuit Court against Kevin L. Parsley, Preece Logistics LLC, Rush Transport Inc. and CDS Transport Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 30, 2015, she was driving her 2000 Ford Windstar on Route 35 when defendant Parsley, who was employed by defendants Preece, Rush and/or CDS, negligently caused the tractor-trailer he was driving to strike the rear of her vehicle.

She alleges she sustained injuries resulting in pain and suffering, medical expenses, annoyance and diminished capacity to enjoy life.

The plaintiff holds Parsley, Preece Logistics LLC, Rush Transport Inc. and CDS Transport Inc. responsible because Parsley did not drive a reasonable and prudent speed.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory and punitive damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney's fees, costs and expenses and such other just and appropriate relief. She is represented by Robert D. Cline Jr., Robert A. Campbell and R. Chad Duffield of Farmer, Cline & Campbell PLLC in Charleston. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Joseph Reeder.
