Woman seeks damages from Cook Bros. Trucking after Beckley collision

BECKLEY – A motorist is seeking damages after a collision on an Interstate 64 exit ramp in Beckley.

Maxine Ara filed a complaint Nov. 17 in Raleigh Circuit Court against Cook Bros. Trucking and Charles Humphrey alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 16, 2016, she was operating her vehicle in a proper and lawful manner when defendant Humphrey carelessly operated the truck owned by defendant Cook Bros. and caused it to strike the rear of her vehicle. She alleges she suffered injuries to her low back, neck and shoulder and incurred medical expenses of more than $6,748.02. 

The plaintiff seeks compensatory damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney's fees and such other and further relief. She is represented by Harold B. Wolfe III of Wolfe Law Office in Princeton. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Robert A. Burnside Jr.
