Daughter files negligence suit against Sunbridge Dunbar over mother's care

CHARLESTON – A Kanawha County woman has filed a suit against a Dunbar nursing home over her late mother's care.

Linda L. Miller, as personal representative of the estate of Arzona R. Cheetham, filed a complaint in Kanawha Circuit Court against Sunbridge Dunbar Healthcare LLC, doing business as Dunbar Center, Genesis Healthcare LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, beginning in Jan. 6, 2016, Cheetham was a resident at defendant's facility. The plaintiff alleges that the defendant failed to provide adequate supervision to Cheetham to prevent her from falling

The plaintiff holds Sunbridge Dunbar Healthcare LLC responsible because Cheetham allegedly sustained bodily injuries because of the defendant's negligence.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all damages as allowed by law, attorney's fees, costs and all other relief that the court sees fit to award. She is represented by Jeff D. Stewart and Andrew L. Paternostro of Stewart Bell PLLC in Charleston. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Tod J. Kaufman.
