WHEELING – A Wheeling woman alleges she was injured at an Ohio County grocery store because of liquid on the floor in a checkout aisle.

Emily Anne Marie Armstrong filed a complaint in Ohio Circuit Court against Riesbeck Food Markets Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 7, 2017, she slipped and fell in liquid on the floor which caused injuries to her knee, hip, low back and other body parts.

The plaintiff holds Riesbeck Food Markets Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to warn the plaintiff of the condition and failed to keep and maintain the checkout aisles.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant for compensatory and general damages, interest, court costs and any further relief the court grants. She is represented by James G. Bordas Jr. of Bordas & Bordas PLLC in Wheeling. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Jason A. Cuomo.
