Surgery technician alleges she was wrongfully terminated by Preston Memorial Hospital Corp.

Wrongful term 08

KINGWOOD – A Tunnelton woman alleges she was wrongfully terminated from her job with Preston Memorial Hospital Corp.

Rebecca Holt filed a complaint in Preston Circuit Court against Preston Memorial Hospital Corp. alleging wrongful termination and breach of implied contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was employed by the defendant as a surgery technician and on July 26, 2017, asked to have a meeting with human resources to address issues she was having with her employment with the defendant. The suit states she was later terminated for "supposed code of conduct violations."

The plaintiff holds Preston Memorial Hospital Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to allow her to file a grievance, failed to provide equitable process to resolve issues related to her employment and failed to allow her to appeal certain management decisions.

The plaintiff seeks all damages as permitted by law. She is represented by John F. Gianola and James A. Gianola of Gianola, Barnum, Bechtel and Jecklin LC in Morgantown. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Lawrance S. Miller Jr.
