Man alleges he was injured on zip line ride at Grand Vue Park

MOUNDSVILLE – An Ohio County man alleges he was injured at a Marshall County Commission-owned park.

Ryan S. Ramsey filed a complaint in Marshall Circuit Court against the Marshall County Commission and AIG Property Casualty Co. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 6, 2016, he was injured while nearing the end of his zip line ride at Grand Vue Park because he crashed into a pole. He alleges he broke his toe and lost work time because of the incident.

The plaintiff holds Marshall County Commission and AIG Property Casualty Co. responsible because defendant Marshall County's facility operators allegedly ignored his approach for landing, failed to slow him down according to standard protocol and negligently allowed him to crash into a pole.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks award for damages, notwithstanding the proposed waiver he signed and such other and further relief that is proper. He is represented by Patrick S. Cassidy of Cassidy, Cogan, Shapell & Voegelin LC in Wheeling. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge David W. Hummel Jr.
