Slip01

HUNTINGTON – A customer at the Gabriel Bros. store in Huntington alleges a liquid on the floor caused her to fall.

Michelle Humbert filed a complaint Jan. 12 in Cabell Circuit Court against Gabriel Bros. Inc. alleging premises liability and negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 12, 2016, she was injured when she slipped and fell with great force at defendant's store located at 3110 US-60 in Huntington. She alleges she sustained injuries to her knee and leg and was caused to suffer great pain and suffering and medical expenses.

The plaintiff holds Gabriel Bros. Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly negligently permitted the slippery substance to remain on the floor and failed to provide warning signs that the floor was wet and slippery.

The plaintiff seeks damages of no more than $45,000, punitive damages, interest attorney's fees, costs and all other relief to which she is entitled. She is represented by Abraham J. Saad of Saad Dixon Law Offices PLLC in Huntington. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Paul Farrell.
