Tractor-trailer driver alleges Schneider driver cross center line, caused collision

POINT PLEASANT – A South Carolina tractor-trailer is seeking damages from another driver after a collision in Mason County.

Spencer Church filed a complaint Feb. 20 in Mason Circuit Court against Schneider Transport Inc. and Christopher Sturdivant alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on Feb. 24, 2016, the plaintiff was injured when the tractor-trailer he was driving was struck by defendants' tractor-trailer on Route 35 in Mason County. The suit states Sturdivant, a driver for Schneider, cross the center line.

The plaintiff holds Schneider Transport Inc. and Sturdivant responsible because Sturdivant allegedly operated his vehicle in a negligent, careless and reckless manner.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney's fees, costs, expenses and such other lawful relief. He is represented by Truman C. Griffith of Warner Law Offices PLLC in Charleston. The case has been assigned to R. Craig Tatterson.
